¡Hola a todos! Esta semana estaremos aprendiendo sobre la Tierra y sus cambios. También hablaremos del Conocimiento Fonológico.
Objetivo: Su hijo/a observara y describirá lo que sucede durante los cambios en la tierra, y practicara como separar palabras en silabas.
Materiales: *Ropa/objetos que se usan en el invierno y el verano.
Ponga a su hijo/a a ver este video de las estaciones del año antes de mostrarle la lección dirigida por mi :)
Earth Changes (Phonological Awareness)
Hello everyone! This week we will be learning about the Earth changes. We will also be working with Phonological Awareness.
Objective: Your child will observe and describe what happens during changes in the earth, and it will practice how to split words into syllables.
Materials: *Cloths/objects that are used in the winter and summer.
Have your child watch this video about seasons before they see the lesson lead by me :)
Activities that will help your child review and practice the concept of Phonological Awareness:
* One at a Time Slowly say a sentence: “We are on our way to lunch.” Your child will take one step, hop, or skip for each word in the sentence.
Variation: If your child is having a hard time identifying how many words are in the sentence, right it down so he/she can see it.
* What’s in a Name? Say an animal name. Your child will then have to clap, snap, or tap the syllables as you slowly repeat the name syllable-by syllable. Then ask your child: “How many syllables did you hear in . . . ?”
Note: Some students can segment the word into Syllables on their own.
* Catch a Rhyme Throw a ball of yarn or a beach ball to your child and say: “Tell me a word that rhymes with lawn.” Then your child will say a rhyming word and will throw the ball back to you.
Variation: “Tell me a word that rhymes with lawn. I’ll give you a hint: When I’m tired, I sometimes [acts out a long yawn].”
Recommendations: One of the ways preschoolers and kindergartners get ready to read is by noticing and playing with the words, rhymes and syllables they hear in everyday speech. This is called phonological awareness. Kids also start to tune in to the individual sounds or phonemes in words. This is called phonemic awareness. The more you can build on these early “pre-reading” skills, the more prepared your child will be for the challenge of learning to read.
